Talk instead of typing
- Open Sherpa. In the CRM, click "Sherpa" at the top, or tap "Open Sherpa" on a phone.
- Hold the round mic button next to Send and talk. Let go when you're done. Or tap once to start and tap again to stop.
- The first time, your browser asks to use the microphone. Choose Allow.
- Your words appear in the message box as you talk. Fix anything that's off, then press Send.
Voice never sends anything on its own. What you say goes to Sherpa like typed text, with the same approval rules.
Each recording can be up to 60 seconds. Press Esc to stop and keep what was heard.
Where your voice goes
Peak tries these in order and uses the first one that works:
- Your phone or computer turns speech into text itself, when your browser can do that on the device. Your voice stays on the device.
- If your business added its own speech key (OpenAI or Google) in AI settings, the recording goes to that provider once and isn't stored.
- Your browser's speech service (Google in Chrome and Edge, Apple in Safari), but only after you say yes once. Peak asks first: choose "Allow" or "Type instead".
- If none of those are available, you type.
Peak only ever receives the text. Your "Allow" is remembered on that browser only.
If the mic doesn't work
- "Microphone blocked": allow the microphone for app.peak-engine.com in your browser's site settings, then try again.
- "No microphone found": plug one in or check your headset.
- "Sherpa didn't catch that": try again a little closer to the mic.
- Firefox doesn't have speech built in. Add a speech key in AI settings to talk there, or type.
