SHERPA · THE RULES
What Sherpa will and won't do.
Sherpa is the assistant in the Peak tools. Chat with it in the app, connect your own AI assistant, or text it once your texting number is connected. This page is built from the same rules the software enforces.
TL;DR
Every action Sherpa can take has one of five rules. Auto: does it right away. Draft only: drafts it for you. Confirm: asks you first. Approval to send: waits for an owner or manager. App only: never by text or chat. Anything that moves money or reaches a customer waits for an owner or manager.
Updated October 20, 2026
THE RULES THAT NEVER CHANGE
Built into the software.
No setting, owner or AI can change these.
- Anything that moves money or reaches a customer always waits for an owner or manager to approve it. No setting can change that.
- Settings, team members, billing, deletes and data exports can only be done in the app, never by text, chat or an AI connector.
- Sherpa can only do what is listed here. If an action is not on this page, Sherpa cannot do it.
- Owners can make any action stricter (ask first, or draft only) and can switch every channel to draft-only at once. Nobody can make an action looser than shown here.
- Sherpa never sets a price. Prices come from your price book or a person; lines it adds start at $0 and are flagged until someone fills them in.
- Costs, wages, margins and internal notes are never shown to the AI model.
- Field crew can ask Sherpa for help, but never for anything that involves money.
- Every action is logged with who asked, on which channel, and the words they used.
- Automated flows (like "job finished, draft the final invoice") can't reply YES, so anything that would need a YES waits for an owner's approval instead.
THE FIVE RULES
Every action gets one of these.
Auto
Does it right away
266 actions
Looks things up and makes small edits to your own records. Anything marked Can undo can be reversed for 10 minutes by replying UNDO.
Draft only
Drafts it for you
23 actions
It writes a draft in the app. Nothing goes to a customer until you open the draft and send it.
Confirm
Asks you first
125 actions
It tells you exactly what it will do and waits for your yes. The request expires after an hour.
Approval to send
Waits for an owner or manager
24 actions
Anything that moves money or reaches a customer is held until an owner or manager approves it in the app, or by text with a PIN.
App only
Never by text or chat
111 actions
Settings, people, billing, deletes and exports stay in the app, where you are signed in.
EVERY ACTION, BY APP
The full list.
If an action isn't listed here, Sherpa can't do it. Open a group to see each action and how you'd ask for it.
