Switch to Peak From Another Tool

Bring your customers and price book over from Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, QuickBooks or a spreadsheet, and undo an import if it goes wrong.

What comes over

  • Customers: names, emails, phones, company, tags, lead source, addresses and notes.
  • Your price book: item names, descriptions, prices, costs, units and SKUs.
  • Jobs, estimates, invoices, payment history and files don't come over. Finish open jobs in your old tool, and start new ones in Peak.

Peak has step-by-step export guides for Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Contractor Foreman and QuickBooks. The contact import also reads a GoHighLevel or HubSpot export, and any spreadsheet saved as a CSV file.

Bring over your customers

  1. In the CRM, open "Switch to Peak" under Setup in the left menu, and pick the tool you're leaving.
  2. Follow the export steps on the "Customers" card to download a CSV file from your old tool.
  3. Click "Import (tool) customers", then drop the file in.
  4. Check the "Column mapping". Most columns match on their own. Make sure at least one column is set to Email or Phone.
  5. Under "Options", choose what happens when a contact already exists: "Only fill in blank fields" (the default) or "Overwrite with the file's values". You can tag every imported contact too.
  6. Look at the preview of the first 50 rows, then click "Import".

Nothing is imported until you click "Import". Using a plain spreadsheet? Go to Contacts and click "Import".

How duplicates are handled

  • Peak matches people by email first, then by phone number, and merges the match into the existing contact.
  • If an email matches one contact but the phone belongs to someone else, Peak merges nothing and opens a "Possible duplicate contact" task for you to check.
  • Rows with no email and no phone are skipped.
  • Imported contacts start with no marketing consent, because a list from another tool isn't proof someone agreed to marketing.

Undo a contact import

Click "Undo import" on the results screen, or "Undo" next to the import under Recent imports on the Switch to Peak page. Imports from the last 30 days are listed.

Undo removes the contacts that import created, as long as nobody has worked on them since. Contacts it updated keep the changes. Removed contacts stay in the trash for 30 days.

Bring over your price book

  1. On the Switch to Peak page, follow the steps on the "Price book" card to export your items, then click "Import the price book".
  2. Choose the file, match the columns, pick which price book it goes into, and check the preview.
  3. Click "Import". Items land in a draft, so nothing reaches an estimate until you publish the price book.
  • Files can be up to 1 MB and 2,000 items. Split a bigger list into smaller files.
  • If one row has a problem, nothing is imported until you fix it.
  • Items with a price but no cost come in at 0% markup, so you can set costs later. Items with no unit come in priced "each".
  • Contractor Foreman doesn't export a price book. Start from a Peak starter price book in the Estimator instead.
  • Importing a price book needs an owner or manager, because it sets your costs.
