Start on Basecamp
Basecamp is the first page you see after signing in at app.peak-engine.com. Its "Get set up" card shows how far along you are and your next three steps. Click "See all" for the whole list.
The full list lives in the CRM under "Get set up". It's in the order that books the most jobs, and each step checks itself off from what you've already connected. Click "Start" on the next step, or "Open" on any other.
Owners need an authenticator app before Basecamp opens. It takes about 2 minutes. See "Authenticator App and Remembered Devices".
The steps
- Catch every lead
- Text and call from your business number
- Turn on speed-to-lead follow-up
- Connect your AI key
- Send email from your own domain
- Take deposits and payments
- Claim your Google Business Profile
- Ask every happy customer for a review
- Invite your team
- Look like one business everywhere
- Get listed where customers look
- Know what is working
- Keep your data in your own accounts (optional)
Each step shows "To do", "Started" or "Done". Your progress counts the required steps, so a new workspace starts at 0 of 12. When every step is done, you'll see "Setup complete".
Connect your accounts
Steps that need an account of your own open the "Set up your business" page. The bar at the top counts your connections, like "3 of 7 connections". The seven are:
| Connection | What it turns on |
|---|---|
| Database | What it turns on: Where your customer records live. See "Create Your Free Database". |
| Phone and texting | What it turns on: Two-way texts, missed-call text-back and texting Sherpa, on your own number. |
| What it turns on: Estimates, invoices and messages sent from your own domain. | |
| AI model | What it turns on: Sherpa and AI drafts, on your own AI key. |
| Payments | What it turns on: Card and bank payments on your own Stripe account. |
| File storage | What it turns on: Where photos and files are kept. |
| Google Business Profile | What it turns on: Your Google listing and reviews. |
Each one shows "Not connected", "In progress" or "Connected". If your workspace still runs on Peak's database or storage, you'll see "On Peak's database" or "On Peak's storage". Those count as connected.
Two different counts, on purpose: Get set up counts steps (like "4 of 12 done"), and Set up your business counts connections (like "3 of 7 connections").
If you signed up on your own
- On the sign-in page, choose "Continue with Google".
- On "Set up your business", enter your business name, pick your trade, and tick what you want help with first.
- Agree to the terms and click "Create my workspace". You own the workspace.
- Add an authenticator app when Peak asks.
- Your first step on Basecamp is "Create my free database". The tools open once your database is connected. Settings and Get set up stay open meanwhile.
